WoW Cooking Guide

Ultimate WoW Guide

Cooking is a secondary profession that can be trained in addition to the other main two professions. Although many people decide to disregard the secondary professions, cooking brings buffs, healing, and mana regenerations. The materials are usually cheaper as well rather than buying potions. Cooking and fishing go hand-in-hand, so finding the time to fish can bring you some great buffs for leveling or raiding. With the expansions, it is more difficult to find the needed fish to level cooking, but if you have the time you can fish for the materials to save gold. This WoW Cooking Guide will help you level your cooking skill quickly.

Materials will vary between meat that is found on beast mobs that you kill while leveling.  Some people sell these meats on the auction house.  The con to cooking is that occasionally you find that you need to farm for the materials because you won’t find them on the auction house.  This is where fishing will come in handy if you can’t simply buy the materials.

Since more recent patches, Blizzard has provided an easier way to level Cooking to about 50 without the need for fishing or farming for meat.

Level 1-75 WoW Cooking Guide

Leveling to skill 50 is pretty simple for cooking. Use Spice Bread and Simple Flour to bring your cooking up to level 40. Smoked Bear Meat and Bear Meat (or Wolf Meat) to level until 75. Most of these meats are found in the Auction House from people who have mains and don’t need the cooking skill

Level 75-150 WoW Cooking Guide

If you do not have the materials or you cannot find them in the Auction House, then you need to head to Ashenvale to farm for clam meat and crawler meat.  If you’re Horde, there is a flight path right next to the area, but it has a lot of PVP due to the high volume of alliance in the area.  Make Boiled Clams and Crab Cakes until you reach about 130 in skill level.

Next, you need to find Raptors.  They can be found in Arathi Highlands mostly.  You can also find them in Thousand Needles.  Use the Raptor Eggs to make Curiously Tasty Omelet until you reach level 175.  Don’t forget to train at level 150, and go back to making Omelets.

Level 150-225 WoW Cooking Guide

Continue making Curiously Tasty Omelets until you reach level 175.  Once you train, start making Roast Raptor from the Raptor Flesh you have farmed from killing Raptors for the eggs.  Once you reach 225, you will need to locate the quest giver that is listed in the trainer list above.

Level 225-300 WoW Cooking Guide

For the level 225 cooking skill, you can buy the materials from the Auction House, or you can farm them.  You will need Giant Eggs x 12, Zesty Clam Meat x 10, and Alterac Swiss x 20.  Giant Eggs can be found off of the Owl Beasts in Winterspring or Hinterlands.  Zesty Clam Meat can be found in Big Mouth clams that are farmed from sea creatures.  Alterac Swiss is found on vendors.  Once bringing all these materials to the quest giver, you can continue to level 300.

Begin by making 25 Monster Omelet from 25 Giant Eggs.  Buy or farm Bear Flanks to make Juicy Bear Burgers which will bring you to 285.

Travel to Silithus and kill sandworms for their Sandworm Meat.  This will be used to make Smoked Desert Dumplings that will bring you to Cooking skill level 300.  You will need to get the quest from Silithus to obtain the recipe.

Level 300-375 WoW Cooking Guide

This begins leveling from the Hellfire Peninsula area.  Kill Ravagers to obtain Ravager Flesh.  Make 30 Ravager Dogs.  Don’t forget to buy the Master cookbook before beginning.  This should bring you to about level 325.  From this point there are many recipes to bring you to 375.  You can use Talbuk Venison to make Talbuk Steaks, Clefthoof Meat to create Roasted Clefthoof, or Warped Flesh to make Warp Burgers.

Level 375-450 WoW Cooking Guide

Pickup all the cooking recipes in the starting expansion pack cities.  Just using these recipes will get you to 400 easily.  Using Critter Bites will get you to about 425.  Recipes Cuttlesteak, Blackened Worg Steak, Blackened Dragonfin, Dragonfin Fillet, will quickly get you to 450.

I hope this WoW Cooking Guide helps you level your cooking fast. I recommend you check out the WoW Fishing Guide as well.
